Official Mixmaking Playoffs rules (Revised and Final)

Ok rules are as follows:

The mix can be on anything but it has to be an NBA mix. You are however allowed to use college/hs/other footage as long as its still an NBA mix. Example:
If you are making a mix on a career of a player you can start them out in hs and college as long as it ends in NBA.


Tournament Style:
The contest will be played out like the NBA Playoffs. There will be 2 divisions with 8 mixers in each. We will create seeding based on skill level and potential. The match ups will also be created like NBA were seeding will face each other. Example:

Div 1 Div 2
1 VS 8 1 VS 8
2 VS 7 2 VS 7
3 VS 6 3 VS 6
4 VS 5 4 VS 5

There will be a maximum of 4 rounds meaning 4 mixes in total if you reach the finals. The winners of each division will face in the finals.

Technical Requirements:
Each mix per round must not be longer than 2 minutes. You must also add the text official M2 Playoffs 07-08, somewhere in the mix. You are not aloud credits or mixer intro, anything that you put will be included in the 2 minute limit. The mix can be in any format.

Upon Entering for each round:
I will create all threads for the playoffs. From each mixer I ONLY a download link of the mix they are entering for round 1. I will download and upload all mixes to the M2 Playoffs youtube channel as private and then set it to public when I post the threads. You are not alot to have posters in the contest thread BUT you can post your mix alone in the mixes section with a poster or even an extended version of the mix you are entering. Also you are allowed a maximum 100 word write up on your mix that you can send when you send it to me.

Criteria:
The mixes will be judged by the judges on these following criteria:

Video Editing: The judges will take into consideration your knowledge and skill of video editing. Things like the cuts and style of cuts will be judged.

Sound Editing: This section you will be judged on your use of sound. The judges will look at your choice of music and also the sound effects you used in your piece.

Special Effects: The judges will look at your use of effects to enhance your mix. Things like color corrects, graphics + text and use of after effects will be looked at.

Footage: The judges will look at the range of footage you use. They will look at the angles that you have, the quality and how it goes with your mix. They will also look at the source which can hurt you if you use TNT cuts or be good for you if you us

Originality/Creativity: The judges will look at your use of style to create something original and creative.

General Flow: The judges will look at how your mix comes together. They will look at the general flow and how the above criteria work together to create your mix.

Finals:
The finals will be all the same requirements except the limit will be boosted up to 4 minutes.

Dates:
The first round of the contest will officially start on June 5th. All mixes for that round must be pmed to me with download and streaming link. The seeding will be determined by June 1st. After a mix is posted there will be a 3day judging period in which the judges will have time to make their votes. After that 3 day period the next round will start. You will have a 1 week period after the 3 days of voting to create or add final touches to your mixes and prep them for the second round. Here is a full list of all the dates.

June 1st - Seeding determined

June 5th - Round 1 starts. I will need all round 1 mixes by this date

June 8th - Judging period for round 1 will finish, round 1 is over with winner advancing

June 15th - Round 2 starts. I will need all round 2 mixes by this date

June 18th - Judging period for round 2 will finish, round 2 is over with winner advancing

June 25th - Round 3 will start (Division finals) I will need all round 3 mixes by this date

June 28th - Judging period for round 3 will finish. Round 3 is over with winner advancing to finals.

July 2nd - Finals will start (round 4) I will need all finals mixes by this date

July 5th - Judging period will end with one winner. Contest will end 1 month from start date
