NBL Close to Death - 06-13-2008, 12:43 AM

yesterday the sydney kings were terminated from the NBL and ive read that the brisbane bullets have until July 1 to come up with a new owner or they will be terminated aswell. on top of all this Hummer and Foxtel are reportedly thinking of pulling out as main sponsors and broadcasters, if this were to happen the NBL definately would not be able to run and we would no longer have a pro basketball league in Australia.

its a shame it has come down to this though. and the fact that there is a high chance of NBL losing hummer and foxtel. all these players will have nothing if that happens

I reckon that the Commissioner or whoever should be fired... The NBL has terrible promotion and Marketing... The NBL comes off cheap because of the way it is presented, they need proper jerseys none of this BS adverts all over them... The stadiums need proper lighting and they need to play it on normal TV.... Who is gonna get Fox to watch NBL?? i know i wouldn't..

I mean look at the NBA and how they run it.. they always come up with new campaigns and ways to promote it... I know there's money they have to think about but still they can do much better

fukc that shiit, its pisses me off. Firstly, i go for tigers so its ok lol but if foxtel pulls out, we wont have live games! Now if the whole league gets turminated, some teams will prob be playin in like the sinaporian league or new zealand league, which is gay for us aussies

The only way the NBL is going to get better and bigger is bring it back onto free to air!

Anyway, it is very sad to see a team like the Sydney Kings fall apart like that. Stupid management!

I'm pretty sure that the Bullets will be fine.

Other teams like the Dragons and Blaze are going to be great next season.

Well at least my Tigers are doing fantastic! :D

I hope that stupid league dies, whoever manages it f*cked it up.
so much to the point where it can't be fixed. One of the greatest franchises now terminated, what is this sh*t? NBL sucks and I hate it!

New Zealand National Basketball League is gonna be on the rise if the ANBL gets shut down. Too bad NZ only allows 2 imports per team, just like the ANBL rule, except Aussies are considered imports too in the NZNBL
