get my left hand to cooperate with me? Do I have to start wacking off with it or something? It's always blocking my shot or sending the ball too much to the left when I shoot. My biggest problems with my shot is my left hand being a ***** and having small hands. I can't fix the second one though

I kinda have the opposite 'problem'. Sometimes when I shoot, I end up flicking it off with my left hand as if I was shooting it left handed and it always invariably goes in.
It's never intentional of course, and I admit it's a complete fluke.

Just use it on a more consistent basis until you get good with it, as you suggested wack of to get practice.
Everything is a question of practice, the more effort you put in, the more you get out.
Getting the ball straight is the most important factor in being a consistent shooter. Shooting with one hand helps to work on shooting the ball straight and concentrating on the backspin rotation of the ball. This drill is to work on technique, foot position, and body alignment and not to simulate anything close to game speed. Rim flips are solely for refining and maintaining technique and form.
Do that like he does, how his hand is under the ball to start then flips it underneath.. I should get you better at shooting... and not needing that left hand as much...
You left should really just be a guide.. and make sure that you left doesn't extend with your right hand when you shoot it should just stay close to where it was originally
