English Premier League 08-09 -

well it kicked off this weeked. i only saw a bit of the liverpool game but they looked a bit ordinary and just scraped through with a late goal from torres. man utd were missing a few players but they didnt look too great out there either, then again shay given did make some great saves. chelsea looked great in their game even without drogba. anelka is playing well and i hope his form continues so he loses that 'has been' tag. didnt watch the arsenal game at all so i dont know what their performance was like.
anyway enough of my ranting. talk about EPL stuff in this thread and hopefully we can get some good soccer discussion going. my pick to win this season is Chelsea

It should be a pretty interesting season. I'm hoping Liverpool hits a top 4 spot, even better if they make it to 1st but I don't think that will happen as Man U and Chelsea will have great seasons.
I expect Chelsea to win it all although I think that Liverpool could give them a good run for their money.

I seriously doubt that Man U will win this year. Liverpool might make the top 2 depending on whether we can get our act together early and sustain a decent lead in points. I think that it all depends on how well we do in the Champions League for the confidence. We do have a habit of only succeeding when coming from behind rather than winning all throughout. My money is on Arsenal, but I'm hoping Liverpool win it obviously.

Liverpool just scraped through against Middlesborough who were up 1-0 up until the 83rd minute (or something like that) when carragher got that goal and then gerrard scored in extra time to give Liverpool the win. once again they looked pretty average and they will need to play a lot better when they come up against the top tier teams
