This is the first time for Montenegro in the World Cup.
Qualification begins, I believe, in September...so yeah, what group do you think is toughest? Who are you cheering for?

I'd say Group 1 is toughest but they're mostly even. I'm cheering for Serbia of course.

I'm routing for the Czech Republic. It would be nice if we qualified.

Our team is going downhill though.

i'll have a soft spot for all the former yugoslavia countries but wont really follow anyone exclusively.

We really have hopes for our team in Latvia...since we made it to Euro 2004 we have played very bad, but we had a coach change and now we have the same coach who took this little country to European Championships in 2004 (he left after it)...Luxembourg, Moldova - should get all 12 points...Switzerland - probably need to win this match-up...Greece, Israel - 6 points out of 12, would be aight...

2nd places qualify too, as far as I remember?

Hopefully Greece will qualify, and going by the teams they have in their group I'm sure they'll make it. It should be interesting to see which teams have improved or declined since 2006 but I'm sure that most of the top teams will return and compete to an A-grade level.

Not quite this year:

Eight groups of six teams and one group of five will contest the European qualifying competition for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The nine group-winners will qualify directly, while the highest ranked eight of the nine second-placed teams will contest home and away play-off matches for the remaining four places. In determining the rank of second-placed teams, the results against teams finishing last in the six-team groups will not be counted for consistency between the five- and six-team groups.

btw im pretty sure Macedonia will beat Norway, Scotland and Ireland
not so sure against Netherlands but we played both games against them draw 2-3 years back
also im rooting for Serbia although they are really weak

Macedonia beat Croatia and England cant beat them haha
