The Wolfsburg bosnian legioner Edin Dzeko(pictured) became leader of the FTBL top forwarders rating after replacing Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo in the World Cup qualifiers of this weekend.

Considering all the matchups where he takes part (the Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Wolfsburg ones) we can affirm that Dzeko doesn't go out of the play field without scoring: this lucky break lasts already 5 matchups, and the last one against Estonia national selection team was not an exception. Bosnians won the encounter (2:0) and the victory goal was scored by Dzeko.

To conclude, we must say that Dzeko's score grew up in 22.99 reaching 225.57 points. By the other side, Cristiano Ronaldo lost 24.3 points after suffering injuries in minute 27 of Portugal - Hungary matchup (3:0), falling down to second position in general forwarders' chart.

even tho Dzeko is a young talented player with great career in head of him there are many better strikers in the world then him

yeh there is no way i would say he is the best forward in the world but he is definately a rising star and someone to keep an eye on over the next season or two. This site has its own ranking system and im sure it doesnt take into account a lot of certain things. Still a great honour for him to be recognized and hopefully he can do good enough to put BiH into the world cup

I'm not saying that he isn't a great player, but I was just looking at this international goals and he hasn't scored against anything major, yeah I know that he hasn't played that much, but anyway - 3 goals vs Estonia, 2 vs Iran, 1 vs Oman, 1 vs Armenia and then there's 4 goals vs against above average teams Slovenia, Belgium, who haven't been as good lately as they used to be and 2 vs Turkey, who isn't definately a great team in qualification games.

They are going by his current form guys, last season he had 36 goals in 42 matches for Wolfsburg where he played top rated clubs. And currently he has 8 goals in 11 matches for Wolfsburg this season, Dzeko has a great chance to get even 40 goals this season he is in amazing form. They aren't say he is the best striker in the World! They are saying he is the best striker in the World with his current form.

And this is ridiculous that you guys are putting him down, like this. He is being chased by World Class clubs, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus, Milan, Sevilla. Like Sir Alex said if Dzeko does the same thing or better this year like he did last year he will be a top 5 striker in the World.

Just to let you know Spain, Turkey, Belgium beginning for this WCQ campaign they were all ranked Top 20 in the World! Spain still is while Turkey and Belgium fell out of top 20, but the point I'm trying to say Bosnia was ranked 76th in the World at the start of this campaign. Dzeko scored on Turkey and on Belgium. First game vs. Spain he could have scored also but he decided to make a pass which went wrong way. But he learned from that and now is destroying what stands in his path.

no one is putting him down but the title of the thread is somewhat misleading, i agree he is a great player and is in good form but he still has quite a way to reach the top player tag and i for one really hope he does keep improving and hopefully he has succes at club and international level

Of course he isn't the best striker in the World, but in couple years he can be if he keeps up what he is doing.
